Model: Mercury 135 Black Max
I took my boat in to the service shop, and they checked it out and said I needed a worm gear to pump the oil. Cost $3,000.00. I also had a grinding noise in the lower unit of my Mercury 135 Black Max, again the service department said they needed to take the lower unit apart $270.00 I found the Boat Doctor on the internet and contacted him. After a couple of phone calls my bass boat was fixed! Total cost $81.50 for both problems. Turned out my problems were no more than a hairline crack in the oil cap and a linkage adjustment.

Thank You very much Ben, I will tell all my friends here in Indiana about your service.

Model: 1987 Johnson 40hp
Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU again Ben. I called today about my prop not turning on my Johnson 40 horse motor. Not only did you easy my worries and fix my problem but you probably saved me a trip to the mechanic as well! I called you on a Sunday evening not expecting to get anyone but an answering machine and was shocked that I was talking to a real person, you. May God bless you and I thank Him for putting a passion in your heart to help people have a good time out on the water. Ill send you a picture of my first lunker this year.

Again, God bless you and yours,
Nathan Conner

I would like to take this time to thank The Outboard Doctor (Mr. Ben Minor) of Parsons, Kansas. While fishing Dist 58 Saturday Jun 9th, 2007 my trolling motor mount broke when I hit a stump (image that on Big Hill) at around 7:30a.m. I had three real nice fish at this time and I called The Doctor and he came to the lake and had the replacement part and got my trolling motor mount repaired and I was back on the water fishing by 9:00a.m. and ended up finishing third. Thanks a million Ben and I know this is not the first time you have rushed to Big Hill to help out other ABA members. I thank you and others thank you. Note from The Outboard Doctor: "While it is not possible to help most people in person, we can help by phone. We can't manufacture parts for you, so you should try to carry spare parts for items that could break while you are on the water."
